Nagpur journalist's mother, daughter murdered

In a shocking incident, the daughter and mother of a Nagpur-based journalist was found brutally murdered on Sunday.

The mother and daughter of Ravikant Kamble, a crime reporter with Nagpur Times, were reported missing since Saturday evening.

The bodies of Usha Kamble (56) and her 18-month-old granddaughter Rashi were discovered by some people behind a school building in Sitabuldi area of Nagpur. Both of their throats were slit.

According to latest reports, two peeople have been detained by the Nagpur Police and they are being questioned.

Personal enmity and financial disputes are the angles that are being probed by the police.

The double murder has come as a major shock to the people of Nagpur, which is the hometown of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also hold the home portfolio.

"The police should ensure that the accused are punished in a manner which proves a deterrent against carrying out such gruesome murders. We stand in solidarity with the affected family," the Mumbai Press Club said in a statement.
