Services in all the eight zones of the BBMP are likely to be disrupted from Monday onwards as the civic body's employees are going on an indefinite strike demanding the fulfilment of their demands.

The 18,000-strong workforce of the BBMP is expected to take part in the protest scheduled to be held at the Freedom Park, said Amrut Raj, chairman, BBMP Employees' Welfare Association. "Our main grievance is the arrest of our colleagues in two incidents wherein the authorities did not carry proper investigation," he added.

BBMP Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad said he had instructed the head of the civic body's legal cell to take the necessary steps to ensure the employees' interests were protected. He urged the employees to report for work.

The BBMP Council is scheduled to meet on Monday.
