Police being alert with the approach of Holi Festival when the adulterated milk products are sold on a large scale, a person was arrested by Doiwala police on Saturday  as he was coming to Dehradun from Dudhali  with such products, including  cheese, to sell.  Police said that samples of the milk products which were seized have been sent to a lab for testing. Action would be taken by the department concerned if such products are found to be adulterated, said police.

Police further said that after the inputs were received the police swung into action on the instruction of the   senior officers.

Checking drives were launched along the Dudhli route. In course of the drive, a car bearing the registration number UP10D7148 was stopped. The car was found packed with about 90 kg of thickened milk (Mawa) and about 24 kg of cheese. The driver of the car identified as Sheshad, resident of Fatehpur in Saharanpur district of UP, was arrested.

A team of the department of conservation collected samples. Cops said that the driver failed to show any paper of the vehicle. The car was also thus impounded under the Motor Vehicles Act.
