Tripura elections: Voting for 59 assembly seats underway

Voting in Tripura began at 7 am today. It is being held across 3,214 polling stations. For the first time, the state will see a direct contest between the left front and the BJP. Polling is being held for 59 of the 60 assembly seats today, after the demise of CPM Candidate Ramendra Narayan Debbarma in Charilam assembly seat. Ramendra Narayan Debbarma died of cardiac arrest while campaigning on February 11.
