After Moradabad, now an application filed under the Right to Information Act in Bijnore had forced the local Chief Medical Officer to act against the quacks and those running clinics illegally. The CMO claimed to have registered criminal cases against the accused so that necessary legal proceedings could be made in the matter.
State Information Commissioner (SIC) Hafiz Usman, on whose direction the action was taken claimed that a social activist filed an application under the RTI Act with the CMO office in Bijnore seeking that how many quacks, or illegal clinic has been identified in the district and that what action has been taken against the accused. Usman claimed that the CMO office provided no information so the complainant sent several reminders but when he found no response, he finally filed an appeal in his court.
Usman said that he also directed the CMO to provide necessary information but when he too got no response, he summoned the CMO of Bijnore, RK Saksena and also imposed a fine of Rs 250 per day for further delay in giving the information. Usman said that finally Saksena appeared in his court and had informed him that they already launched a cracked down against the quacks and besides sealing the clinics, they held 20 of the quacks and get criminal case registered against them under the guidelines issued by the Medical Council of India.
Usman said that as per the CMO, they took action against Dr Jaipal Singh, Dr Naseem Ahmed, Dr Devendra Kumar, Dr Sonia, Dr Sheesharam Saini, Dr Feroj, Dr Rishipal, Dr Narendra Kumar, Dr Gaurav Kumar, Dr Kusum Devi, Dr Seeta Devi, Dr Mohamed Yusuf, Dr Altaf Ahmed, Dr Reshma, Dr Udaiveer, Dr Ishtkhar, Dr Narendra Kumar, Dr Naz, Dr Anurag Jha, Dr Needesh Kumar, Dr Yoga, Dr Ram Singh Falodiya and 39 more doctors.
It is to be mentioned that on intervention of Hafiz Usman, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) office in Moradabad also launched a crackdown on quacks running their clinics in the city and had registered cases against 52 of them to initiate legal proceedings under the guidelines laid down by Medical Council of India (MCI). In Moradabad also, when CMO shown reluctance to provide information, Usman took serious action after which CMO of Moradabad, Dr Prakash Chandra appeared in his court and informed that they had launched a crackdown against such practitioners and so far, they sealed clinics and hospitals and registered cases against 52 quacks with different police stations in Moradabad to initiate legal proceedings. Chandra said that they registered case against Raheem Ahmed, Nekram Singh, Sartaz Khan, Shaheed Hussain, Zaved Ahmed, Rajpal Singh, Dikshad, Yaseen, Farooq, Tasleem Ahmed, Yameen, Anil, Mehboob Ali, Kripal Singh, Rizwan Ali, Abdul Rasheeh, Iqram, Khaleed, Harpal Singh, Adil, Zarif, Rohitas Kumar, Harkesh, Kasim, Faeem, S Sarfaraz, Alam, Suleman, Praveen, Afzal, Babbu Hussain, Zaheer Alam, Mujhahir Ali, Suresh Kumar, Waseem Ahmed, Afzar Hussain, Mahendra Singh, Ifthekhar Hussain, Zubair, Maliq, Jameel, Naeem, Haripal, Reeta Singh, Yashveer Singh, Neeraj Thakur, Shakir Malik, Poonam Singh, Kiran Yadav, Ruby Singh etc.
