Dakshit Patel, who was on call with Haneesha Chowdary in the early hours of Sunday, rushed to her hostel, broke open the door of her room and took her to a hospital. However, doctors declared her brought dead.
"We don't have any confirmation that she committed suicide during the video call. However, she had spoken to her friend on video call before taking the extreme step. Her friend told us that the victim had said that she would hang herself. He also told us that he saw her hanging," a senior police officer said.
Haneesha belonged to Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh, about 350 km from Hyderabad, and stayed at a private hostel in Hyderabad's Kompally. She was apparently angry as her boyfriend had objected to her attending a wedding, police said.
"An argument broke out between the two after which she seems to have told him that she was going to end her life," the officer said.

The woman's parents have filed a complaint and the police have sent the girl's mobile phone for forensic examination. Further investigations are on, police said.(With inputs from agencies)
