In its latest update, tech giant Google announced the removal of the 'View Image' option for images on its search engine.

The MNC, in a tweet, said the View Image button would be removed, but the visit button would remain intact for users to view images in the context of the web pages they're on.

With this change in place, users will face difficulties when attempting to download an image for personal use, while improving attribution of the contributors' work.

Google has drawn flak from photographers and publishers, who alleged that image search allowed people to steal their pictures, following which the company decided to get rid of the view image button, reports The Verge.

Additionally, the firm also announced the removal of the "search by image" button that appeared when one opened up a photo on Google Search.
