Files pending, babus perplexed
BHOPAL : Almost ten days have passed since the newly appointed ministers have been allotted portfolios but none of them has started work due to by-polls. Narayan Singh Kushwaha and Jalam Singh Patel are busy campaigning for by-polls in Mungaoli and Kolaras assembly constituencies while Balkrishna Patidar is not finding time from welcome functions.
Kushwaha was given charge of renewal energy, Patel got Aaush and cottage and rural industries while Patidar was assigned the charge of labour department. All these three ministers after assuming their charge have not yet convened any departmental meeting. This has affected department functioning.
The budget session of state assembly will begin from February 26 and the departments have been asked to reply to questions. The officers of these departments find it difficult to get approval of ministers who are busy in by-polls. The old pending files have also come back and the officers are now waiting for the conclusion of election campaigning.
Sources said important files are taken to ministers for their signatures but the works, which require discussion before decision, hang in balance.
