PM Modi holds talks with Iranian President in New Delhi |

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani held delegation-level talks in New Delhi this afternoon. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said in a tweet that both leaders held a substantive and productive discussion on co-operation in trade and investment, energy, connectivity, defence, security and regional issues. Several agreements are expected to be signed shortly. Both leaders will also release a special postal stamp.
Earlier today, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj called on the visiting dignitary. They discussed ways to strengthen co-operation in energy, connectivity, IT, education, culture and people-to-people contact.
The Iranian President was accorded a Ceremonial Reception at Rashtrapati Bhawan this morning. He also visited Rajghat to pay tributes to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Mr Rouhani will meet President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu later today.
The Iranian President, who is on a three-day visit to India, arrived in New Delhi last night after his stay in Hyderabad.
