Pithampur smart park eyes `15k cr investment, 15k jobs

 Construction work underway on 470 hectare land likely to be ready by June 2019 , 200 acre kept reserved for Japanese investors

Indore  : Pithmapur, the region which has already earned a lot of name as one of the hot investment destinations of the country, let alone the state, is going to take a leap for its second phase of industrialisation with construction work of all new integrated industrial park on 470 hectare land is fast underway in the area.

The park, which would have world class industrial infrastructure, is likely to be ready for launch by June 2019. About Rs 15,000 crore investment is likely to rain on the park after its completion, with 200 acre land specially kept reserved for Japanese investors. The entire project is expected to generate as many as 15,000 jobs in the area.


The integrated park is being developed by Audhyoic Kendra Vikas Nigam (AKVN) Indore at a prime location on AB Road, just about 8 km away from Mhow, close to NATRiP project.

Incidentally, the plot for the project also was taken from the NATRip in 2016 and development works were started in May 2017, with AVKN investing Rs 225 crore in the project.

20% work completed

Talking about the ongoing construction works at the park site on Saturday, AKVN Indore managing director Kumar Purushottam informed that in the last six months since beginning about 20% of the work has been completed and they were hoping to complete it by June 2019. Kumar enthusiastically said that “Though the project is under development phase, we are getting great enquires from industries for the park.”

Salient features

Informing about special features of the industrial park, Purushottam said that there will be 108 official plots of 2 acre each with the facility of clubbing them together for a bigger one. The park will have all necessary industrial infrastructures and facilities including warehouses, schools, hospitals, police and fire station, petrol pump and community facilities like theatre and community hall. In order to give it an aesthetic look, a beautiful landscape has been designed with over 1.10 lakh saplings to keep the environment green and fresh. Also, the natural lake falling under the project area has been beautified, with soothing greenery and pedestrian walkways accompanying a 2.5-km-long tunnel. Besides, a total 21.22 km long RCC road and 30.80-km Narmada water supply pipeline will be laid to covering the entire project area, the AKVN MD said.
