23-yr-old man found dead with throat slit

A 23-year-old man was found dead with his throat slit in North Delhi's Burari area on Thursday night. The deceased, Chand Mohammad has received a 12cm long slit on his throat.

Police on Friday said that they have detained two of his friends for questioning. Police suspect that Chand Mohd was killed owing to a personal enmity dated two months back.

Harendra Kumar Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) said, “On Thursday night, the police received a PCR call at around 8.48 pm regarding an accident on Pushta road in Burari area. The injured man was rushed to the Trauma Center where doctors found that he had sustained a deep cut of 12 cm on his neck. The deceased was declared brought dead.” Police said that from the crime scene, they discovered the victim's phone and cash worth Rs 1,500. “Through his mobile phone, parents of Chand Mohd were informed,” added Singh.

Police said that Chand Mohd, a resident of Mukundpur village under the Bhalaswa Dairy police station area, works as a labourer in a workshop, while his father is a carpenter.

Based on the interrogation of the people from last seen with Chand Mohd, police suspect that he was killed due to personal enmity.

A case under IPC Section 302 has been registered at Burari police station. Further investigation is underway.
