Thane Shocker: 48-year-old ambulance driver rapes 5-year-old, stifling her face with a cloth

Wagle Estate police have arrested a 48-year-old ambulance driver of NMMC in Thane for raping a 5-year-old girl at his house.
According to a report in Asian Age, the accused has been identified as Chandrashekar Kene. He is the neighbour of the victim and know the victim’s family well. The incident took place around 9.30 pm when the victim was playing outside her house with some of her friends. The accused then approached the girl and asked her to go with him to the market on pretext of getting her chocolates.
The accused first took the girl to the market and then to his house, which was empty as his family members were at the market. He then raped her after stifling her face with a cloth. He then left the girl near her house and fled from the spot. By then, everyone had started searching for the girl. On reaching home, the parents found out that she was raped,” a police officer told the leading daily.
The police have further added that the parents said that their daughter was crying and they took her home. After the parents came to know something wrong has happened with the girl, they brought her to Wagle estate police station. The police immediately did her check-up and registered a rape case. The accused was on run but the police managed to catch him and arrest him within an hour. The police have registered the case under relevant sections of the IPC and POSCO.
