A deadly and powerful earthquake of having 7.2 magnitude shook south and central Mexico yesterday, causing people to run here and there due to swaying buildings and office towers in the country’s capital.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake’s preliminary magnitude was at 7.2 and said its epicenter was 33 miles, 53 kilometers, northeast of Pinotepa in Oaxaca state. The Quake had a depth of 15 miles, or 24 kilometers.
Masses gathered on Mexico City’s central Reforma Avenue as well as on streets in Oaxaca state’s capital, nearer the earthquake’s epicenter, which was in a rural area close to Mexico’s Pacific coast and the border with Guerrero state.
The Mexico City Red Cross said that the front of a building collapsed in Mexico City’s Condesa neighborhood.
The Oaxaca state civil protection agency said via Twitter that it was monitoring the coastline.

Earlier, in September, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck Central Mexico, Killing 228 people in the capital and 369 in the nearby areas.
