4 must-watch weekend sporting events

Cape Town - It's the weekend!

But the sporting world never sleeps, so hang on tight and be sure to watch these FOUR events (in no particular order)!

1. Proteas v India, 1st T20

After a bitterly disappointing ODI series thrashing, the Proteas now face India in the first of three T20Is.

All-rounder JP Duminy will take over the helm, as an inexperienced Proteas attack take on a T20-specalist India squad.

First ball will be bowled at 14:00 with the women's 3rd T20I starting at 10:00.

2. Absa Premiership

On Saturday, we see Baroka FC battle Chippa United (15:30), Golden Arrows host the reigning champions Wits (15:30) and then the mouth-watering clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town City (20:15).

3. Winter Olympics

We're in PyeongChang for the Winter Olympics.

The world's best athletes will be on display in South Korea including alpine skier Connor Wilson, who is the sole South African athlete participating.

Wilson will compete this Sunday in the slalom with his first run due at 03:15-05:15 (SA time) and his second run at 06:45-08:25 (SA time).

4. Super Rugby

The 2018 Super Rugby campaign kicks off this weekend!

The Stormers face a determined Jaguares at Newlands (15:05), while over at Ellis Park, it's a South African derby between the reigning runners-up, the Lions, against the Sharks (17:15).

Who will reign supreme? Will we see any upsets? All these questions and more will be answered on Sport24...
