NEW DELHI: IT stocks were trading mixed in afternoon session of trade on Friday.

The Nifty IT was trading 0.07 per cent up at 12,466 around 02:40 pm (IST), with shares of Mindtree (up 1.53 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services (up 1.03 per cent), Infosys (up 0.65 per cent) and Wipro (up 0.12 per cent) as the gainers.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra (down 2.72 per cent), KPIT Technologies (down 1.18 per cent), Tata Elxsi (down 0.61 per cent) and Infibeam Incorporation (down 0.19 per cent) were down in the IT index around that time.

Equity markets were down in the absence of any definite global cue as most of the Asian markets were closed on Lunar New Year holidays.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 82 points down at 10,464, BSE Sensex was 247 points down at 34,050.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 13 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Ambuja Cements, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Dr Reddy's Labs, Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack of stocks.

However, Eicher Motors, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Tech Mahindra, State Bank of India and YES Bank were among the top losers in the Nifty50 index.
