United AirlinesUnited Airlines has undertaken quite an aggressive approach to its automated security lanes at the Chicago O’ Hare International Airport.

The airline has currently opened four brand new lanes for seven automated security checkpoints inside the airport. These new lanes are spread out between the TSA security lanes.

Automated security lanes are emerging as more popular across the nation as more people are protesting against the extensive lines at security checkpoints.

Chicago O’ Hare has been noted as among the worst in the nation for security area backups. The airport has been trying to work on this issue for some time but then the lines continue to be quite long.

The addition of the new automated lanes presently places United in the centrestage at the Chicago O’ Hare.

America Airlines is the main competitor at this airport.

It only has two automated lanes at the moment. However, American has stated that it is not raising the number of automated lanes at O’ Hare at this time. American Airlines has said that it would not be expanding its automated security at O’ Hare at this time since it is presently working on a new security scanning system for baggage at the Phoenix Airport.

The airline is hopeful that the program would be very successful and it would be able to launch this technology all across the nation by the end of the year.

American Airlines feels that this technology is likely to significantly improve the security check wait times in every airport in the nation.
