The LG directed the police during a meeting to focus on building a skilled, capable and dedicated human resource because that would be its primary weapon in combating cyber crime. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, Principal Secretary (Home) Manoj Parida, Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik and senior police officers.



"A year-wise road map for three years was also discussed in the meeting. The LG stressed upon periodic assessment and review of the progress made upon them, so that the work can be accomplished in a time-bound manner," the LG office said in a statement.

It stated that the LG has advised police to "suitably incentivise" existing personnel besides making appropriate modifications to its recruitment procedures for inducting the best talent available to help it fight cyber crime effectively.
