House boats, floating canteens at exotic locations

The budget mentions the ambitious proposal of the tourism department to introduce house boats and floating canteens on rivers and seas abutting the state's coast. The department has proposed to introduce house boats similar to the ones in Kerala and Kashmir on rivers Kali, Sharavathi and in Mangaluru. "This is the first time we have proposed this. This is different from caravan tourism and cruise tourism," an official said.
Mysuru Haat
On the lines of the famous Delhi Haat, the department has got clearance to create a Mysuru Haat.
