For a more robust Sakaala with e-governance

DH News Service, Bengaluru, Feb 17 2018, 1:57 IST

In an attempt to make transactions of Sakaala 2.0 paperless and easy, the government has updated the programme using modern e-governance tools such as e-sign and digi-locker.

Using these tools, people can submit applications for availing the services online. A special centre for smart governance will come up to assist the departments in developing, re-designing and maintaining these e-governance softwares.

The state is also planning to fix the minimum support price, payment of subsidy, estimation of crop area and selection of beneficiaries based on the data that has been collected through a survey of crops.

The government payments of various departments will be brought under Unicode. An integrated Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) platform has been created to validate the name of beneficiaries with Aadhaar and Aadhaar-enabled accounts.

E-attestation will be formulated to overcome the problems faced by citizens in attestation of records.

An outlay of Rs 147 crore has been provided for e-governance.
