Govt school teacher held for sexually exploiting 2 minors

Shaming the bond between student-teacher relationships in the national Capital, a 40-year-old Hindi teacher of a Government school has been arrested by the Delhi Police for sexually exploiting two minor girls, both Class VIII students. Pretending to be partially blind, the teacher used to touch the students. It was only when it became unbearable for one of the class 8 students in Mukherjee Nagar area that she discussed the crime with her classmate. It was when the classmate too nodded that she had also been inappropriately been touched by the teacher that they reported the matter to the school authorities.

The incident was reported on Friday afternoon at a government school in Northwest Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar area when the two class 8 students shared with each other how they were being inappropriately touched by their Hindi teacher, Avdhesh Kumar (40) for the past few months.

Police suspect that apart from sexually harassing these two students, Kumar has allegedly sexually exploited nearly 30-40 students,”

A senior police officer, “The two students submitted a letter in the complaint letter box, which is installed in the school following which the school principal called them,”

The two girls told police that whenever Kumar used to touch them inappropriately, he used to act innocent asking for forgiveness as he is blind. But on the next day, he used to continue his evil acts on the minor girls,” said a senior police officer.

On Friday afternoon, the parents of the two students were called in. one of the parents made a call to the Police Control Room after which local police reached the school.

Based on the statements of the two minor girls, a case under sections of Protection of Children Sexual Offences Act was registered. The teacher, Avdhesh Kumar was arrested on late Saturday evening,”

The officer added, “Since the arrest was made on Saturday, we are waiting for the school to open on Monday. After which, we will question the other teachers and the school Principal.”
