The International Solar Alliance is the biggest achievement of the 21st annual Conference of the Parties (COP) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking at the World Sustainable Development Summit 2018, he said, “While the world was discussing inconvenient truths, we translated it into convenient action. India believes in growth, but is also committed to protecting the environment.”
“It was with this thought that India and France initiated the International Solar Alliance. It already has 121 members and is, perhaps, the single most important global achievement of the Paris Climate Change talks,” he added.
