Rostelecom expands Wi-Fi network in Sakha

Russian national operator Rostelecom has launched its public Wi-Fi services in the settlement of Tolon in the Republic of Sakha. The Wi-Fi hot-spot enables access to broadband at up to 10 Mbps and was deployed there under the federal programme on elimination of the digital divide in villages.

Such hot-spots have already been built in five settlements including 1,800 residents in Sakha. A total of 122 villages are planned to be covered by the end of 2019.
