SP debars morchas near secretariat

Panaji: The North Goa superintendent of police (SP) has banned demonstrations without necessary permissions within 500m of the assembly complex in view of the Budget session starting Monday.

SP Chandan Choudhary, exercising powers conferred by the Police Act, 1861, has promulgated that no person or class of persons will convene in the jurisdiction of the police stations of Porvorim and Panaji from February 19 till the assembly session is over.


Any person or persons intending to convene or take out processions or demonstrations individually or collectively should apply to the SP, North, for a licence well in advance. tnn
