KOTTAYAM: Kerala Congress(M) chairman K M Mani has come to the fore with a response to CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran’s comment that Mnai is not trustworthy.
Talking to reporters, he has said that he has been in the social circle for more than 50 years, and that his credentials cannot be questioned. He also said that he doesn’t need Kanam’s “certificate.”
“I’ve contested and won in 13 elections. The people know me very well, and they would decide whether I’m trustworthy or not. Kanam’s statement doesn’t deserve a reply,” he said.
Kanam, the other day, said in a statement that the CPI would not continue with the LDF if the Kerala Congress(M) is taken into the front, and that Mani is not trustworthy. He added that the LDF won 91 seats without the support of Mani, the front can approach the minorities directly, and that there’s no need of any mediator for this.
Kanam had also said that the LDF doesn’t have the liability to save any particular party when there is a problem in the UDF.
