Akshay Kumar latest outing, that was released on Friday (January 9, 2018), had opened to positive reviews on its first day and continued to show an upward trend at the box office as it picked up the pace on the second day. Written and helmed by R Balki and bankrolled by Twinkle Khanna under her home banner Mrs Funnybones Productions, the comedy-drama PadMan also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in pivotal roles.
According to reports, the six-day collections of ‘PadMan’, that had opened to Rs 10.26 crore and made a jump of 35% on the second day, stands with the grand total of Rs 52.04 at the domestic market. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to his social media handle to share the official collection of the film, he wrote, “#PadMan is SUPER-STRONG… Fri 10.26 cr, Sat 13.68 cr, Sun 16.11 cr, Mon 5.87 cr, Tue 6.12 cr, Wed 7.05 cr. Akshay Kumar starrer is a fictional retelling of the real-life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham. In the R Balki-directorial, the ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ actor has stepped into the shoes of national hero Arunachalam, who is the inventor of low-cost sanitary napkins for women in rural areas.
