Florida: In the US high school in Parkland, Florida, a 19-year boy carried out firing on Thursday taking the lives of 17 people. This incident of firing took place in Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, about 72 kilometers north of Miami.

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel told reporters that the gunman was identified as Nicholas Cruz, who is an alumnus of the same school. It is being told that he was expelled from the school due to unspecified disciplinary reasons. Israel said that the gunman surrendered before the police without any conflict.

As per Sheriff Scott Israel, “This is catastrophic… There really are no words”. In this incident, 12 people were killed inside the school while two people died outside the school.

One person was killed on the road and two people died in the hospital. Several students lost their lives in the incident. As per the Gun Control Group, 18 incidents of firing have occurred in the US schools this year, including suicide incidents and incidents in which no one got injured.
