Iran President Hassan Rouhani arrived here on a three-day visit on Thursday.
Union Minister of State for Power R K Singh, Governor ESL Narasimhan and Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Ali welcomed Rouhani, who is accompanied by 21 delegates, at the Begumpet Airport.
During his two-day stay, Rouhani will visit the Mecca Masjid in the old city to offer Friday prayers and address the weekly gathering at the historic mosque. He will be the first ever Iranian President to address the Jummah.
He will also visit Salarjung Museum, Golconda Fort and the Qutub Shahi tombs. Rouhani will interact with intellectuals from different religious sects and the Iranians settled in Hyderabad.
Telangana chief secretary Shailendra Kumar Joshi has said that security arrangements have been completed and a team of Iranian security personnel are also supervising Rouhani's security.
A large number of Shia Muslims residing in Hyderabad are eager to meet the Iranian president, who is visiting the city for the second time.
