Silver prices rose 0.12 per cent to Rs 38,720 per kg at the futures trade as speculators raised bets amid positive global cues.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March gained Rs 48 or 0.12 per cent to Rs 38,720 per kg in a business turnover of 1,280 lots. Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May rose Rs 35 or 0.09 per cent to Rs 39,189 per kg in 72 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in silver futures to widening of bets by participants on the back of positive global cues. Globally, silver rose 0.36 per cent to $16.90 an ounce in Singapore.
