Event from Feb 16, will create awareness about environment

As spring flowers begin to bloom across the city, the Delhi Tourism is curating an experience for Delhiites to enjoy spending time appreciating nature in all its glory at its annual Garden Tourism Festival.

The three-day festival, which begins on February 16, is based on the theme ‘Grow Garden - Save Delhi’ to create awareness about the environment and show how every person living in the city can contribute to realising the government’s objective of maintaining a clean and green city.

The festival will highlight how gardening has various health and environmental benefits and can help bring out an inner creativity by turning the limited space available in the city into a garden.

Biggest flower show

The Delhi Tourism said that over the three decades, the festival has become the biggest flower show in the Capital as participants include leading nurseries, horticulture and floriculture societies and suppliers of the horticulture equipments, seeds, and fertilisers.

The festival will have special-themed gardens developed by various government civic agencies as well as private organisations and business houses.

Evenings will witness special cultural programmes to entertain visitors and to create a festive atmosphere, there will be variety of food stalls and activities for children as well.

The festival is being organised at the Garden of Five Senses, which is spread over 22 acres. It will host competitions in 30 categories.

Timings are between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Delhi Tourism will also provide free shuttle service from Saket Metro Station to the venue and back.
