Kartik Aaryan to reportedly play leading role in Hindi remake of Tamil hit Jigarthanda
Currently gearing up for the release of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Kartik Aaryan has reportedly been signed for another big project. The Pyaar Ka Punchnama actor has been has roped in to play the leading role in the Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster, Jigarthanda, reports DNA.
Sanjay Dutt and Tamannaah Bhatia have also reportedly been signed for the film. The film will see Aaryan essay the role of an up and coming filmmaker. Dutt will be seen playing a mafia who also wants to make it big as an actor. Details about Tamannaah's character have not been divulged yet.
Initially, Farhan Akhtar was supposed to essay the leading role. However, he backed out of the project after having logistical differences with the makers of the yet-to-be-titled project, reports the publication. After Farhan's exit, the makers began their search for a young face and found Kartik to be perfect for the role, according to a source.
The 2014 Tamil original stars Siddharth, Bobby Simha and Lakshmi Menon.
Kartik's Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is slated to release on 23 February. The film was supposed to release on 9 February, but the makers had to push the date to keep up with the changes in the Bollywood calendar brought about by Padmaavat.
