Akari, Gamboa target 3rd win

MANILA, Philippines — Surging Akari-Adamson takes on an equally streaking Gamboa Coffee Mix-St. Clare, looking for another win and a share of the lead with idle Zark’s-Lyceum in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig today.
Two days after whipping Che’Lu Bar and Grill, 84-75 to improve to 3-1, the Falcons try to join Zark’s Burgers-Lyceum in the lead in their 2 p.m. clash with the Coffee Lovers behind Jerrick Ahanmisi, Jonathan Espeleta and Papi Sarr.
But Gamboa Coffee Mix is also coming off two successive victories against Batangas-Emilio Aguinaldo College and Jose Rizal University after an opening game setback, ensuring a fierce showdown between the two rising teams.
