Donald Trump, Born in Year of the Dog, Will Experience a Major Political Crisis in 2018, Chinese Astrologers Predict
A spell in the White House is not all that Donald Trump, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush have in common. The three U.S. presidents were all born in 1946, the Chinese Year of the Dog.
That’s bad news for Trump, according to Chinese astrologers, who say that all (star) signs point to a turbulent year for the president—starting Friday, the first day of the Lunar New Year.
Louis Wong, a Chinese astrologer and feng shui practitioner, told South China Morning Post that Trump is in for an unlucky 2018, which will feature numerous political conflicts.

“For the coming year, Donald Trump will still be at the center of arguments within the White House and between different countries,” Wong said. “His colleagues in the White House will resign very frequently. The harmony in his office will not be good…but I think he will still stay in his position for at least two to three years, no problem.”
Clarice Chan, a Singapore-based Chinese astrologer, confirmed Wong’s predictions and added that Trump’s disruptive personality stems from conflicts within his astrological birth chart.
More than just being born in the Year of the Dog, Trump falls into the “fire dog” category. The element preceding a person’s animal is determined by the specific year of birth.
“Fire dogs are generally very ambitious, driven and energetic,” Chan said. “They can be good leaders, but they can also be very judgmental, stubborn and resistant to change.”
Wong said Trump displays all the qualities of a typical fire dog. He is hot-tempered, talkative and not in harmony with others. Chan told the Post that she predicts that Trump will experience a major political crisis in 2018.
“The opposition party is really going to fight him this year,” she said. “If he is more flexible and tones down his approach, it is likely he will stay on as president. But if he is very forceful, he will face trouble.”
Raymond Lo, a feng shui expert from Hong Kong who claims to have predicted President Barack Obama’s re-election in 2012, told Quartz that “there will be anti-Trump movements” during the 2018 lunar year.
Lo also predicts that Trump’s enemies will grow more powerful in the coming 12 months. “Maybe more people from the Republican Party will also be against him,” he added.
