The new 2018 Toyota Yaris was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018. The Toyota Yaris, in India, will compete in the B-segment which includes cars such as the Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna. The 2018 Toyota Yaris design language is something which the brand has featured in a lot of other cars. The front end is dominated by a massive grille, which runs across the bumper. The new Yaris features auto projector headlamps and LED parking lights.
The side profile of the new Toyota Yaris 2018 is simple and plain, with the chrome door handles being the only attention-seeker. The 2018 Toyota Yaris India-spec features 15-inch wheels, while the global variants get bigger ones.

The interiors of the 2018 Toyota Yaris features a beige+black theme all around, with some silver accents. The 3-spoke steering gets all the controls you would expect. The steering of the 2018 Yaris is tiltable, but not telescopic.
The Toyota Yaris 2018 also gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with gesture-controls, something seen mostly in high-end luxury cars. However, the infotainment system do not support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
The interiors of the Toyota Yaris also feature roof-mounted rear AC vents, complete with ambient lighting. The rear seat can be split-folded in 60:40 ratio for making more luggage space. Overall, the interior of the Toyota Yaris feels roomy and airy.
Toyota Yaris 2018 Safety Features
The new Toyota Yaris 2018 hosts a lot of safety features including 7 airbags, ABS+EBD, stability control, disc brakes on all four wheels, and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.
The 2018 Toyota Yaris has also got 5 stars in the safety test conducted by ASEAN NCAP.
Toyota Yaris 2018 Petrol Engine
The 2018 Toyota Yaris comes only with a petrol engine, which also powers the petrol Etios. The Toyota Yaris 2018 petrol engine is a 1.5-litre dual VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing - Ignition) unit with 105.5bhp and 140Nm of torque. The engine is mated either to a 6-speed manual or a 7-step CVT transmission.
The addition of the dual VVT-i (adjusts timing of both intake and exhaust camshafts), gives the new Toyota Yaris an increased output of 15.5bhp and 8Nm, over the Etios.
Other Toyota Yaris 2018 Features
The India-bound Toyota Yaris 2018 is a good example of function-over-form. Though the car's looks have received mixed opinions, the prominent features of the Yaris have been a topic of discussion.

The Toyota Yaris's top features such as gesture-controlled infotainment system, hill-start assist, 7 airbags are things seen only in premium segment cars. The Toyota Etios which sits right below the Yaris in the product-line, had a downside of lacking good features. With the new 2018 Yaris, Toyota has surely ticked a lot of boxes.
