BSP candidates for 2 Lok Sabha bypolls: Shock for SP, Congress
After shying away from a rally convened by Lalu Prasad for a non-BJP alliance at Patna last year, former UP Chief Minister Mayawati is set to shock both the Congress and Samajwadi Party by fielding BSP candidates in Gorakhpur and Phoolpur Lok Sbha bypolls. Voting for both seats will be held on March 11 and the results will be announced on March 14. Mayawati’s move to field candidates has taken the Opposition by surprise and in previous bypolls, BSP never fielded its candidates in bypolls.
The BSP candidates for both seats would be announced any time and sources said that the party already given its nod to ex- Minister Ghura Ram for Phoolpur seat. Sources said names were yet to made official, Zonal in-charge, Dr Ram Kumar Kureel called Ram and informed him about Mayawati’s decision.
