After going through many changes in release dates, Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee‘s Aiyaary is finally hitting the screens this Friday. The Neeraj Pandey directorial’s release has been delayed twice already to avert a clash with Padmaavat and later Pad Man. Despite impressing the audience with its intriguing trailer, Aiyaary is expected to open around Rs 5 crore predicts a trade expert.
Talking about the film’s opening day collection, trade analyst, Akshaye Rathi said, “Aiyaary should open around Rs 4.50 to Rs 5 crore on its first day.” As per him, the film has received around 1000 to 1100 screens nationwide and it majorly targets the multiplex audience in the metro cities. When asked whether Aiyaary will be affected by Pad Man at the box office, he replied, “Everybody, who enjoys the Neeraj Pandey genre of film, will go and watch it.” He also said that the film will be heavily dependent on word-of-mouth since the film doesn’t feature any big name. “The biggest name associated with the film is Neeraj Pandey, who, over the years, has established himself as the director who engages the audience very well.’ (Also Read: Valentine’s Day Special! He further justified as to why this film will work on Neeraj Pandey’s name and said, “A huge chunk of the audience will go in the cinema halls to watch a Neeraj Pandey film expecting the element of patriotism with a gripping narrative.” Akshaye also said that if a film like this would have Akshay Kumar, it would have opened to double-digit figures due to his reach, but now the film only rides on Neeraj Pandey and its content.
