Jain monk passes away

Shreyasagar Maharaj (74), a Jain monk, passed away at Tyagi Nagar here on Thursday. He had not taken food or water for the last one week as part of ‘Sallekhana’, a practice of fasting till death. The saint had stayed put in Shravanabelgola for the last one year. He had walked from Rajasthan to be part of Mahamastakabhisheka.

Charukeerti Bhattaraka Swami has mourned his death.
