In Nagaland, the poll campaign is gradually gaining momentum. Several Union and top State party leaders are holding rallies and road shows in various places of the State .
The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party and BJP launched the campaign from Mon town with Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju calling people for support.
While Naga Peoples’ Front officially launched their campaign from Kohima yesterday, other parties are also reaching out to the people promising development and better Nagaland.
Beside the political party rallies, the public is organizing common platform for all the candidates in their respective constituencies with an objective of knowing their agenda, and make them promise to implement them once elected.
The common platform, a first of its kind programme, which is being held in parts of the State allots specific time for the intending candidates to speak about their intention of contesting the election and also make them to sign a pledge card that they would make ‘their visions’ into a reality once elected.
All the candidates share about the lack of development in the State as a whole, and cite agriculture, land development, human resource development, especially the youth, education, health care as their main focus point for development.
The candidates appealed to all the party workers and supporters to be united and works towards peace and development in the State.
