Captain - A biographical drama, based on the life of V P Sathyan

Debutant director Prajesh Sen’s Captain is a biographical drama, based on the life of former Indian football captain V P Sathyan, and will hit the screens this weekend (Feb 16).

Jayasurya is playing the role of Sathyan, while Anu Sithara is his wife Anitha Sathyan in the film.

Produced by T L George, Captain has camera by Roby Varghese Raj. Gopi Sundar is the music director. The cast includes Renji Panicker, Sidhique, Saiju Kurup and Deepak Prambol.

Sathyan, who was a strong centre-back on the football ground, represented Kerala in Santosh Trophy. He has played for Kerala Police, Mohammedan Sporting and Mohun Bagan. He was the captain of the Indian team that played World Cup qualifiers in Beirut and Seoul.

Sathyan committed suicide in 2006, due to severe depression. Captain is Jayasurya’s next release after the blockbuster Aadu 2.
