Son Brull Mallorca to launch new spa

Son Brull has announced the launch of a brand-new spa, set to open in March. Situated in the northern part of Mallorca near Pollensa, the family owned and managed Son Brull is a former monastery dating back to the 12th century. The newly built spa, complete with contemporary design elements in wood and stone, will be sympathetic to the main hotel’s original architecture.

The spa is based around the four elements with a particular focus on getting back to nature and reconnecting with the earth. Using dark colours and contemporary furniture, the spa has a sense of timelessness where guests are grounded in a peaceful silence.

Replacing the original spa and larger in size, the new development will consist of three treatment rooms, including one for couple’s treatments, and set in the palatial garden surrounded by the scent of local flowers and herbs. All the treatment rooms overlook the beautiful countryside and hills of northern Mallorca. The spa will consist of an indoor water circuit pool, jacuzzi, sauna, Hammam and a yoga and meditation room offering complimentary daily group yoga.

Launching with an entirely new treatment menu, the spa will offer signature treatments, personalised massages, facials, manicures, pedicures and other grooming services. The therapies have been developed to give a fully holistic experience, with oils, scrubs and balms created with the essence of Opuntia Ficus, more commonly known as the prickly pear, a member of the cactus family. Part of the Mallorcan landscape for centuries, the prickly pear will act as the main product ingredient, with its seeds used to exfoliate and oil, full of antioxidants, to soothe, along with aromas of other Mediterranean plants grown in the garden. These products complement the bathroom amenities at the hotel which are created with local oranges.

In addition Son Brull will launch signature therapies as part of the new treatment menu which include seasonal rituals designed to reconnect guests with the earth’s natural cycle. Each ritual will take a total of 135 minutes, including a relaxation period and are priced at €225.

For those wanting a more immersive spa experience, Son Brull will offer multi-day retreats with a mix of activities from cycling, using the hotel’s fleet of bikes, hiking the Tramuntana mountain range and other outdoor activities, as well as a range of rejuvenating experiences from massage to reflexology. The spa will also be open to non-residents, offering half and full day packages from €175.

Dining at the hotel will also focus on wellbeing with dishes at restaurant 3/65 made from locally produced ingredients and based on the Mediterranean diet. Head Chef Rafael Perelló can create menus for specific dietary requirements on request.
