Elan to set up steel drum production facility in Sharjah

Sharjah based Elan Incorporated, a leading polymer based industrial packaging company, is setting up a production facility for tight head and open top steel drums of up to 220 litres (55 gallons) capacity for the growing petrochemical and chemical industries in UAE. Elan’s new state of the art manufacturing unit will be set up at the Hamriyah Free Zone, and will have a capacity of over 2 million drums per annum. The project is likely to be completed by end of 2018 at an estimated cost of Dh35 million (USD 9.52 million).

Elan has entered into a long term lease agreement with Hamriyah Free Zone for setting up the factory, which will offer internationally acclaimed steel drums representing latest technology. This fully automated plant with the most modern manufacturing and testing facilities will be the first of its kind in the region.

Mr Anil Jain, one of the owners of Elan Incorporated, said that “We always wanted to be one-stop-shop for industrial packaging for our valued customers/users.” He said that “Steel drum operations will allow us to reach out to the ever expanding petrochemical and chemical industries in the region, and forge long term partnerships.”
