Pricing for the 2019 Subaru Ascent will kick off from $31,995, as the automaker’s largest ever car will arrive in U.S. showrooms this summer.
The three-row 2019 Ascent comes standard with EyeSight Driver Assist tech, which includes Automatic Pre-Collision Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure and Sway Warning and Pre-Collision Throttle Management.
Meanwhile, the new EyeSight Assist Monitor, Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are optional (available on higher specs), as is High Beam Assist or the available Reverse Automatic Braking system.
U.S. buyers will be able to choose between four trim levels: a base one, Premium, Limited and Touring.
The $31,995 base price obviously refers to the simplest spec, which comes with the automaker’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, EyeSight Driver Assist, Subaru Starlink 6.5″ multimedia system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four USB ports, three zone automatic climate control, automatic power door locks and power side mirrors, raised roof rails, second-row bench seat (8 passengers), 18″ alloys, 19 cupholders and a multi-function display.
We should also mention that the convex cabin-view mirror that allows the driver and front passenger to view the occupants in the second and third row is for the first time standard in a Subaru model.
Move up in the range and from $34,195 you can get the Premium trim, which adds Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, power driver seat, unique spill-repellent cloth upholstery, Subaru Starlink 8″ multimedia plus system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi connectivity, body-color side mirrors, privacy glass, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift lever handle, rear seat climate controls, 18″ alloys and the All-Weather Package with heated exterior mirrors, 3-mode heated front seats and a windshield wiper de-icer.
If you go for the Premium model, you also gain access to more optional extras, such as second-row captain’s chairs, RAB, 20″ wheels, a power rear gate with height memory, keyless access with push-button start, panoramic moonroof and more.
While the Limited spec requires an investment of at least $38,995, it does offer leather-trimmed upholstery as well as second-row captain chairs at no additional costs. Other features include LED steering responsive headlights with High Beam Assist, LED fog lights, 20″ alloys, lower door cladding with chrome accents and body-color side mirrors, driver’s seat adjustable thigh support, RAB, power rear gate with height memory and keyless access with push-button start.
As for the flagship Touring model, it’s priced at $44,659, and what distinguishes it are the satin silver side mirrors, chrome door handles, chrome front underguard and rear bumper protector, Java Brown leather seats and upholstery, and upgraded leather heated steering wheel and woodgrain pattern matte finish accent trim.
The Touring also comes with the 8″ multimedia sat-nav system, a Harman/Kardon Quantum Logic surround sound system with 14 speakers, Smart Rear-View Mirror, 180-degree front-view camera, panoramic power moonroof and rain-sensing wipers.
Powering the Ascent will be a new 2.4-liter boxer engine with direct fuel injection and a twin-scroll turbocharger, feeding the wheels 260 HP and 277 lb-ft (375 Nm) of torque with the help of a CVT automatic transmission with an 8-speed manual mode.
