Rs 3.2L seized from two cars in Bargarh
Police on Wednesday seized Rs 3.20 lakh from two cars at Talpali Chowk under the Gaisilet police station in the district during a vehicle frisking drive.
A sum of Rs 2.50 lakh was seized from the car bearing the number OR 17 F 5040 owned by one MD Riyaz. The other car bearing number OD O2 AJ 6633, from which Rs 70,000 was seized is owned by one Harprasad Sahu, said Gaisilet police station IIC Gauranga Sahu.
Both the cars were on their way from Padmapur to Gaisilet, said Sahu. He further said investigations were on in the case.
The police on instructions of Bargarh district SP Jay Naryan Pankaj are carrying out blocking and frisking of all vehicles entering the Bijepur Assembly constituency in view of the by-election to be held there on February 24.
