Rahul meets party leaders, workers from many States
Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday interacted with party leaders and workers from the States of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Bihar, Maharashtra and Gujarat among others at the party headquarters.
While Rahul Gandhi spent most of the time in the lawns of the Congress office, he later met senior party leaders in his refurbished office. Easy accessibility of the Congress president has been an issue of debate in the past and Rahul is trying to make himself more accessible to party workers.
The Congress chief’s office at the AICC headquarters had remained closed for several years. It would be opened once in a while when former party chief Sonia Gandhi came to attend a meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) or for an important event like the party’s foundation day.
In the past, former Congress presidents like Indira Gandhi used to meet the party workers at a ‘janata durbar’ there and Rahul is trying to revive that old tradition.
