The regular season is done. As we transition into district tournaments (and the region tournament in Division II), let's check out who hit the 1,000-point milestone this season in Knoxville are high school basketball.
- Skylar Boshears, Campbell County — scored her 1,000th point on Dec. 5 and now has 1,282 as a junior
- Jordan Brewster, Lenoir City — reached the mark Jan. 26
- Mattie Bryant, Morristown East — reached the mark Feb. 13
Morgan Carbaugh, Farragut — reached the mark Feb. 2 and now has 1,041 points as a junior.
Spencer Chandler, Anderson County — now has 1,020 points
- Abbey Cornelius, Hardin Valley — surpassed 1,500 points and now has 1,879
- Jordan Corvette, Halls — reached the mark Nov. 22 and now has about 1,300 points
- Taylor Cotner-Brabson, Northview Academy — reached the mark on Dec. 29 and now has 1,128 points
- Lizzie Davis, Hardin Valley — reached the mark on Feb. 2 and now has 1,028 points
- David Deacon, Lenoir City — scored his 1,000th point against West on Jan. 12
- Ques Glover, Bearden — passed 1,000 as a junior
- Caroline Harville, Morristown West — reached the mark Feb. 2 and now has 1,040 points
- Evan Jackson, Campbell Co. — reached the mark Feb. 8
- Brock Jancek, Catholic — reached the mark Dec. 22
- Connor Jordan, Morristown East — reached the mark on Jan. 28 and now has 1,105 points as a junior
- Haylee Luttrell, Webb — reached the mark Feb. 8
- Barron Nease, Union County — reached the mark Feb. 12
- Myles Rasnick, Webb — scored his 1,000th point against Bradley Central on Nov. 25
- Samantha Russell, Tellico Plains — reached the mark Dec. 5 as a junior
- Caitlyn Ross, Midway — now has 1,047 points as a junior
- Haley Schubert, Powell — surpassed 1,500 points and now has 1,643
- Blayre Schultz, Morristown West — reached the mark Dec. 30, and now has 1,285 points as a junior
- Kendra Smith, Jellico — reached the mark on Jan. 30 and now has 1,063
- Jack Sompayrac, Catholic — reached the mark Feb. 3.
- Trent Stephney, Bearden — passed 1,000 as a junior
Gatorade runner of the year
Carter Coughlin has been named the Gatorade cross country runner of the year. The Webb senior won the Division II-A state meet with a time of 15:47.1.
Coughlin, who has signed with Wake Forest, finished fifth at the Foot Locker South Regional championships. His 15th-place finish at the Foot Locker nationals earned him All-America status.
Coughlin is also nominated for PrepXtra cross country runner of the year.
