Two held with arms, cartridges

Rajkot: Two persons were arrested from an orchard in Sardargam village of Rajkot taluka with firearms and cartridges on Thursday morning.
Police identified the accused as Hitesh Dove (24), a resident of Velnath Society near Hudco crossroads in Rajkot and Pintu Sayaja (27), a resident of Shriram Society in Sardargam village and recovered three pistols worth Rs 45,000, one revolver worth Rs 10,000 and 25 cartridges worth Rs 2,500 from them.
“During interrogation, the duo said they had procured the arms and ammunition from a person from Madhya Pradesh. Hitesh has earlier been arrested in a bootlegging case," said an official from Rajkot crime branch, which arrested the duo and seized the weapons.
