Destiny 2 Crimson Days Event – What is it?

Bungie has announced the return of its Valentine’s Day event which will see the sci-fi shooter receive a bunch of new content. Crimson Days will see the return of the original game’s 2vs2 Crucible playlist and a revised version of Burning Shrine, a map now known as Burnout.

Crimson Engrams can be earned as rewards which have the potential to drop new weapons, armour and emotes. Bungie isn’t capping the limit this time either, so enough grinding should earn you everything there is to find.

“The best way to earn rewards during Crimson Days is to compete in the Crimson Days Crucible playlist, and we’ve tuned the experience to focus on rewarding single-character play,” Bungie said. “Most rewards are found within a new Crimson Engram, with all contents on a ‘knock-out’ list, preventing you from receiving duplicate items until you’ve earned all of the new gear.”

Crimson Days will begin on Tuesday, February 13 and will run for one week.

Destiny 2 DLC – When is the next expansion coming?

The next major expansion for Destiny 2 will be coming alongside the beginning of Season 3 in May 2018. A specific date is yet to be announced alongside concrete details on what content we can expect.

If it’s similar in size to Curse of Osiris, players can expect a handful of new story missions, maps and loot to unlock alongside further additions to the progression system.

Destiny 2 news – what’s the latest from Bungie

This month will see plenty of much-needed alterations such as the reduction of exotic repetition when renewing engrams, something fans have been requesting for a while. Nightfall Strikes will be upgraded with more substantial rewards to make up for their increased challenge.

Bungie also said in its weekly blog update that it aims to increase the “overall speed and mobility” of Destiny 2 PvP moving forward:

“Our goals for this round are to provide individual players with more hero moments by increasing overall speed and mobility, increasing the amount of supers you charge to demolish your enemies, and increasing the frequency and impact of our most montage worthy power weapons, especially in the Crucible,” design lead Josh Hamrick said.

Bungie has announced some major changes for Destiny 2 Nightfall Strikes. The time limit that previously kicked players for not beating things in a certain time has been removed. Bungie said this ‘turned some players off’ high-level play.

However, speed is still encouraged and Bungie has plans to introduce a new scoring system for Nightfall that players will hopefully find more rewarding.

Destiny 2 Patch Notes – What are the latest changes?

The latest patch for Destiny 2 finally introduces Masterwork Armor. This is a rare quality that can be applied to all legendary gear providing you with additional buffs and abilities otherwise unattainable. It can be re-rolled, too, so don’t worry about being stuck with something you don’t like.

In addition, the new update makes changes to raid drops. Running the raid now guarantees an armour and/or weapon drop with Prestige variants providing even more valuable spoils. You can find the full list of detailed patch notes over on Bungie’s blog.
