Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel said that women will have to become strong, be alert and move ahead in the present scenario. The strong determination for one’s own security gives self-confidence in adverse circumstances.

Self-confidence gives the power to struggle. The governor was addressing the students at the annual function of Sarojini Naidu Girls Government College. The Governor also distributed prizes to the students on the occasion.

Smt. Patel said that we have to control the fear within us. Girls should enter the colleges fearlessly. Today women are becoming aware. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given us the slogan of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao.

It is our responsibility to come forward to protect our daughters. The Governor said that it is important to get educated but acquiring award is even more important. One should view education according to one’s own point of view and we should move ahead according to one’s skills.

Smt. Patel said that we should participate in the welfare works for the poor and exploited section. Centre introduced life insurance scheme of Rs 12 for the poor. If we save Rs 12 and get a poor person’s life insured, he will later get Rs 2 lakhs benefit from it. She said women are more answerable today compared to men as they have to take care of their home and family apart from their office work.

The Governor gave Shankar Dayal Sharma Best All Rounder Award to Ku. Mohit Joshi, Smt. Vimla Sharma Memorial Award to Ku. Aakansha Mishra, Samir Malhotra Memorial Award to Ku. Jyoti Tiwari, Smt. Sushmita Chakravorthy Award to Ku. Nazi Kidwai, Bansal Joshi Award to Ku. Mrignalini Kaviraj, Vimla Kapuria Award to Ku.

Pooja Yadav and students for their participation in NCC and NSS. College Principal Smt. Manjula Sharma gave information about the college activities during the samaroh.
