This Tampa dad experienced the best kind of turbulence.
David Rose had no idea what kind of ride he was in for when he and his wife Audrey boarded a recent American Airlines flight to Chicago from Tampa International Airport. In fact, he had barely buckled his seatbelt when the turbulence began.
Unbeknownst to David, Audrey set a plot in motion to surprise him with the ultimate pregnancy reveal while he was in line waiting for coffee at the airport. With him distracted she hastily scribbled a note for the flight crew.
“I have a big favor to ask. I just found out that I'm pregnant and I really want to surprise my husband,” she wrote. “I was hoping you could announce it before takeoff. His name is David Rose and he is sitting in 28E. If you can give me a quick cue that you are about to announce it, I will get my video camera ready.”
Nervously, she slipped the note to a flight attendant. In their seats, and with David’s attention focused on his iPad, Audrey waited for a sign. When she got the “thumbs up” she whipped out her phone to record the moment her husband found out they were expecting their second child.

David was completely shocked to hear the pilot say his name over the intercom. He was even more shocked by the news. “What?” he repeated to his wife. “What? How did you do that?” he asked her, incredulous.
Audrey shared the video on Facebook last month. It has since raked in more than 10,000 views.
"He's mildly in shock still," Audrey, who’s due in May, told WFTS, "and maybe a little embarrassed."
Congrats to the happy couple!
