Refreshed 2019 BMW X4 Arrives This Summer

The all-new 2019 BMW X4 is heading to dealerships this July.

The second-generation X4 will arrive in the U.S. in two versions, the BMW X4 xDrive30i and BMW X4 M40i. The X4 xDrive30i will start from $51,445 including destination, while the sportier and more powerful X4 M40i has a starting price of $61,445.

Featuring sportier proportions than before, the crossover has wider tracks, the latest-generation suspension settings, a lower center of gravity, and improved aerodynamics. There is also a wide array of new standard safety features, including Active Protection, which initiates protective measures such as belt tensioning and the closing of windows and moonroof to a small gap when the vehicle detects an accident situation is imminent. In addition, the standard Active Guard includes Frontal Collision Warning, City Collision Mitigation with Braking, Pedestrian Warning with City Braking, and Speed Limit Information.

The standard navigation system in the 2019 BMW X4 is a large 10.25-inch display that offers drivers multiple ways to interact with it, including touchscreen, iDrive Touch Controller, and cloud-powered intelligent voice control. There is also an optional color Head-Up Display that is 75-percent larger. Other new features on the 2019 BMW X4 include a larger panoramic moonroof and a 3-Zone Climate Control system.

Compared to its predecessor, the new BMW X4 is about three inches longer (187.5 inches), 1.4 inches wider (75 inches), and approximately 0.1 inch shorter (63.8 inches).

Powering the X4 xDrive30i is a four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 248 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. That allows the X4 to accelerate from zero-to-60 mph in six seconds. The X4 M40i is more powerful with 355 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque, resulting in a zero-to-60 sprint in 4.6 seconds.

Standard on all models are 19-inch wheels and xLine design, which combines bespoke front and rear underguard elements and side skirts in Glacier Silver metallic with side window surrounds and styling accents in a satin Aluminum finish.

Inside, BMW says the cabin is roomier with a premium feel with all its controls clearly arranged and set within trim finishers with a distinctly pared-down design.
