Get Rahul's blood tested for purity: Hegde

Union Minister Anantkumar Hegde said on Wednesday that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should get Congress president Rahul Gandhi's blood tested for purity.

He was responding to reports that Rahul had consumed non-vegetarian food before visiting a temple, in a chat with reporters here.

The minister said today, everyone was identifying themselves with their blood (nationalism), thanks to the decades-long campaign by the BJP and the Sangh Parivar.

Rahul and the chief minister had suddenly remembered that they were Hindus. The Congress president's election campaign in the state would only prove to be an advantage for the BJP, the firebrand leader said.
